Entry requirements

For international undergraduate applicants, the University of Ghana sets entry requirements according to both the applicant’s qualification and chosen programme. Current UG guidance recognises routes including WASSCE, Cambridge A-Levels/IGCSE, International Baccalaureate and other accepted qualifications. For example, Cambridge applicants generally need three relevant A-Level subjects plus at least five O-Level passes including English and Mathematics, while IB applicants must meet the programme-specific Higher Level and supporting English, Mathematics and science requirements. WASSCE applicants generally need the required core and elective credits, with the applicable aggregate not exceeding 24 for the international undergraduate route. Professional programmes such as Medicine, Nursing, Computer Science and Engineering may have additional subject requirements. Applicants should confirm the exact requirements for their selected programme before applying.
